VP 5.0 GL-E oil filter choices?

That time of year. Doing this myself, of course. What oil filter options do I have:

VP has these option in their bulletin P-21-7-1 (2005):
3850559 for 96x130mm
3852412 for 96x107mm
835440 for 96x96mm (used this on my old VP3.0!!)

I only see for the 5.7s and 5.0 the part 3850559, but my closest dealer says they never carry that part number.

Cant you just use a standard AC Delco PF454 for all SBC V8s?

It's a Chevy engine, so a standard Chevy filter will work. Just like in choosing oil, if you don't want to use what the manufacturer suggests, use anything that makes you happy.

You might find that there is an anti drain back valve fitted to the remote filters as they are mounted the otherway up. But it looks as if they are just different dimensions for restricted space.
