Volvo Penta impeller direction?

I have a 5.7 Volvo Penta GS. Long story here but prior owner had installed the wrong impeller etc etc. Anyway I am replacing with a new one but don't trust the way the previous one was installed as far as the direction of the fins. If I place the impeller on the shaft which way should the fins bend...to the left or to the right? or will it correct itself upon start up? thanks guys

thanks guys. One other question, the new impeller came with an o ring, but should there be a gasket as well to reassemble the housing? It kinda looked like there had been a previous gasket there (or remnants of one).

Impossible to say without knowing what model engine you have. Some pumps had orings, some gaskets. Need the full model number, including all the letters after the 5.7GS

It's a 5.7GS PWTR.....(1999 model) carburated.

I just replaced my impeller, two issues:
I broke one of the brass screws - appears to be a 5.8mm x 12 mm long, correct?
Mine does not have the spacer, seal labeled as #6 in the above diagram, is this correct?

Oh, by the way, 2005 5.7 GI-E engine.

And, water was dripping out but old o-ring appeared to be in good condition. The boat has sat for the last year.
