I just purchased a 2004 Four Winns Funship with a 5.0 Duo Prop. Props are F5 3851465. At WOT the boat hits about 5000 RPM. My problem is at about 3600 RPM my speed is only 29 mph on GPS. This is with full fuel and 6 adults. I would like a little more speed throughout the power range. Any ideas, suggestions? Would F6 props be good?

Depending on which motor you actually have, the rpm range is either 4400-4800 or 4600-5000. Going to an f6 may increase your speed at mid range, but could impact holeshot and how your boat gets on plane.

Full fuel and 6 adults is a pretty good load. Changing duoprop props can be pricey. See if there is a place local where you can try them.

How does it go with a lighter load? That's some serious weight your trying to move
Set of F6 around $1200.00.
Is more speed through the power range worth that much?

Before you do anything, make sure your dash tach is accurate with a known good shop tach.

that boat/motor wont get out of the hole with a set of F6's on it with 6 people on board. before you invest in more pitch and more motor, it would be cheaper to simply move the throttle forward. to get more speed, you need more power. to get more power, you need more motor

If you had a 5.7, the F6's could be worth it. With a 5.0, I think you would dislike your $1,200. investment.
