I have recently purchased a Campion 30 foot Trawler with a Volvo d41 engine. I have found 2 zincs on the main heat exchanger but figure there are probably more and I'm thinking there would be 1 or 2 on the drive shaft. It has a fixed drive shaft with rudder steering. Any info would be much appreciated.

Sorry about not noticing your post. Zinc locations vary and installing one on the prop shaft (if there is room) will not hurt and can only help. Keep in mind it needs to continue to be checked. As it wears away it can create an unbalanced issue but not normally until it is gone more then 50 percent.

Other zincs are normally mounted on the stern and have ground connections going inside to the ground buss.

One last note is, here is a chart to determine which type of anode should be used based on hull material and water
