Put the settings back to factory specs, then the carbs need to have the idle mixture adjusted properly, and in sync with one another.
If you have the carbs adjusted to lean or to rich, you will get the stumble.

I would add that its not worth skimping on points, fit new points (and condenser) and adjust them with a dwell meter.

Aldo

It does sound like a mix prob. The air volume screws, the one on the base plate of the carb, should be screwed in util it just seats. Then turn it out 1 1/4 turns. This is back to basically the factory settings.
Are the carbs both opening at the same time, ie running in sync.
You say you rebuilt them. Did you check for wear on the spindles. Wear here lets air in leaning out the mix. I had that prob with mine.
