210 sounds pretty hot to me Jim, I think mine is around 140. What is the temp of the tstat you got?

210° is too hot, that engine should be running in the 185 to 190° range. Have you replaced the impeller lately? They are usually the first thing to go bad. The stat's are about the last thing that causes them to overheat.

volvo senders dont like north american guages. its not uncommon to come across a boat that reads 30 degrees plus what it actually is. get it tested before you start parts swapping

That's very possible. Where the hose that pulls water to the pump, look at the connection on the outdrive. That hose connection corrodes off and allows a bit of air to be drawn in instead of water. When that happens, you overheat. But only when up on plane. When sitting idle, the hose connection is under water and will pull water only.

Just did bellow job, hoses all looked fine, new clamps and hi heat silicon, new fitting on top of outdrive where your hose starts, I think it might be intake tube at the screen or just above.......

Re: Volvo aq125b temp ?

jim if you havent already get a temp gun pointed at both sides of your thermostat and double check actual vs guage temp. yes the pickup neck can corrode etc but incorrect guage readings is a problem that will have you chasing ghosts. <br />install a clear hose between the pump and inlet hose and run the engine checking for air bubbles. volvo does have a vacuum spec for the inlet side of their pumps if you are so inclined to plumb in a guage at this point. they also have a pressure spec for the outlet side.

If your engine is actually getting that hot (See above post by BenC), a couple other possibilities would be the exhaust manifold starting to plug up with rust (requires a new manifold, not just cleaned out), or the heat exchanger core needing cleaned.

Ok guys thanks alot for the advise, I will checkout the gauge vs stat. I always had a clear hose on the intake by steering arm. Anyway Thanks again Jim
