I have an 02 150 johnson that has a leaking vaccum switch causing surging at higher rpms. My question is can I safely plug the inlet hose to the switch and run the motor without doing any damage to the motor?

Re: Vaccum Switch

You may plug it, but you will loose the alarm and safety feature.

Re: Vaccum Switch

Installing a new one/replacing the old is a very simple operation done in a minute or two.
ground lead, alarm lead, hose attachment with tie strap.
Look at the engine, not at the diagram.
