It's not the 1st time I have PM'd someone here. I wrote the message and can't find the send window. My question Georgia is there a classified section on iboats.com other than for boats? We are selling our cottage on Lake Erie in southern Ontario Canada and iboats has 100,000 viewers at times, talk about networking.

I have to mess around to send or reply to a PM. I've found that toggling the Advanced Editor sometimes shows the Send button.

On classified ads for other than boats, not that I'm aware of, Iron.

Yea I didn't think there is a classified. With the massive amount of viewers here people would join just to flog thier junk. I never used Craigs list or our Kijiji here in Canada. Too many horror stories I've heard of. Believe it or not about 7 years ago a local husband and father of young kids listed his Ram truck on Kijiji. The 2 monsters that answered his add went with him on a test drive. They murdered him just to steal his truck and a thrill kill. Then they incinerated his body in an incinerator the silver spoon millionaire king pin bought that was used for farm animals. He is doing time for murdering a former girlfriend and his father that he staged as a suicide. They are doing life but here in Ontario life isn't more than 20 or 25 years. Seldom do murderers die in prison of old age. This happened about 20 miles from us. I don't need looky loos casing our place. It's just a coincident folks get robbed soon after showing someone their used car or whatever. I'll leave it up to the agents. Even then who knows?

You are right. The older I get the more cynical I get. Experience is a lifetime of mistakes. Wisdom is not repeating them. I heard a wise man say that years ago. Good looking too, used to be anyway.

At least some good real estate agents vet looky loos a bit. Mine said they do. I didn't ask how, I will need to ask them. It's a sad world we are living in today when you can't trust folks any longer. I've sold many vehicles curb side in the past. I didn't even ask if they had a licence when they took my car, truck or bike for a test drive. They could have just kept driving and I would never know who they were unless I had their car, if it was really theirs, one kid drove up on his bike. I did hear exactly that happened a few years ago of a trusting fellow selling his newer F-150 privately. They didn't come back for their 10 year old beater that turned out to be stolen. It is easy to ask for a drivers licence and take a quick pic of it on our phone. I can't count how many vehicles I've flipped privately. I never asked for a licence, ever.

I reived this email from one of our Real Estate Agents asking about vetting prospective buyers of our place that is for sale. Glad to know some vetting is done today. For the security of our stuff and more importantly the security of the agents. 16 Hoover Point Lane Selkirk Ontario.

Thanks for your email. Regarding agents and safety and vetting... yes, we do vet our clients by asking them to get preapproved, and bring their preapproval paperwork to our first meeting. We also prefer to meet a new client in advance of meeting them for showings. If the home is vacant or rural we will sometimes ask another agent or friend/family member to join us on that showing. I personally will never show a home to someone that will not provide me with a phone number and speak to me on the phone. Another trick of the trade is to keep oneself closest to the door. Never letting a client get between you and exit route.

Sincerely,
