I replaced the powerhead on my 1995 OMC 115 HP. The swap seemed to go just fine, but upon starting it ran rough and would not idle. I took it to a shop to have the carbs cleaned and timing adjusted. He determined the powerpack was also bad and replaced it. It now runs fine when in neutral but has no power when loaded. Maximum speed is about 2000 RPM.

Any suggestions on what to look at next.

KK,

Most likely, you are not getting power out of all four cylinders.

While running on the muffs, disconnect one plug wire at a time and see which cylinders are contributing and which are not.

I think I figured it out. The key in the flywheel was sheared. Replaced key and torqued flywheel nut to specs. Seem to run fine now. Next to test in the water with load.
