I own a 23' wellcraft excel OB WA boat.
The trim tabs pump is broken since the day I bought it which was in may but have never payed attention to it since I haven't need it till now.
Waves are getting bigger and I'd like the boat to take waves directly.

How do I know which pump I have to buy? Are they all the same for small boats or do I have to look for it on the boat?

Thanks

the tabs are built by different companys.....you might have a set of bennets...

the pump is located (usually on the transom and it is covered by a plastic cap...usually dark plexi.

the pump can be rebuilt.....new ones are pricy

^^^^^, yup pricey.

just make sure it is the pump that is the issue and not a lack of 12 VDC to run it before you pull it out, or you are low on fluid (check the tank)

Thanks for the reply.

It's not the lack of 12v since the boat just had a new battery installed this past weekend.

I noticed that when I push the up or down button the voltage goes down significantly. Seems like the pump is stuck, are these easy to remove?

Thanks!

Ayuh,.... What's a new battery got to do with corroded wiring,..??

Get a test light or multimeter, 'n check...

I'll make a list for this weekend when I go to the boat so I don't forget to check the wring first.
Thanks!
