Transom weight

I plan to put a 2001 Johnson 135 hp 2 stroke on a 21 ft Maxun Cuddy Cabin. I am replacing a force 125. I don't knpw the weight of the Force but the Johnson is 365lbs, substantially more I thing. Can the transom/ boat take the weight?<br /><br />Thanks

The 125 weighs about 300 lbs. Weight difference should not be a problem as long as the boat hull is rated for the horsepower you wish to install. That should be posted on a spec plate somewhere on the boat. Keep in mind that the additional weight will take away from the max weight you are supposed to carry which is also listed on the spec plate.
