Re: Transom repair

My fit was tight going in, used a sledge to hammer it down, I am not sure it may have been a little wide until I had a closer look, it seems the 2 3/4" peices after being glued together ( about 1/32"-1/16" final glue thickness ) was a little thicker than original, noteing that the Channel on the inside of the boat appeared to be opened up a little. I also chopped to much off the top and have a dip on my starboard aft deck ( about 1/4" ) very un-sightly.

Sooo I wouldn't do anything to the top untill you have it set into the boat, and test fit the trim in place.. Be sure to use something (sealant?) between the top trim and wood, especially where you'll be putting screws.
