Trailer tongue bracing? Help!

I have a fold away trailer tongue that is failing. Some of the welding has given way and the unit is pretty much being held on by a brace that is built into it. Thank goodness for the brace built on it. Right now the tingue sags about 1.5 inches, at the swing hinge (2.5 feet back from the tongue), under weight. Just a little sag but...... My fear is it may collapse on the way to the welder. How do I brace this to give me more confidence in getting it to the welder (30 minute ride)? Thanks for your help.
20 foot boat. 3000 pounds.

hire a mobile welder to come to you.

I'd probably weld it myself or (like @Scott Danforth said) hire a mobile welder. Would expect welding to be easier than trying to temporarily strengthen it by e.g. drilling holes through it and bolting more steel to it.

But if welding isn't your thing would you also be out of your comfort/skills zone trying to temporarily strengthen it (maybe by drilling holes and bolting more steel to it)?

Might as well fix it once properly than bodge it to get it safe enough to move a few miles then still have to fix it properly?

Gee, pull the boat off the trailer and tie some ropes, steel, wood what have you, to hold it together until you get to the welder.

REmove the boat. Trailer to the welder.
Or have you waited too long to move the boat ?
