Anybody been there? I believe it's in Mohave county, AZ. I'm thinking of taking my kids there one evening and fishing till 12or so. Is there really a marsh? Any decent cats or are they just bullheads? Safe to take my kids? I thought I might try it mainly because of the fishing pier. Is it worth the 2.5 hour drive from vegas?

Thats all right, Aspeck, you're over on the other side of the country. I'm hoping with enough bumps, someone from this side of the country who's been there will see the post.
Thanks for the bump though!

Hey thanks, Hellbound.
Have you ever fished there before? Just wondering what the area is like.

no but i've heard it's kinda like a backwater off the river night fishing should be pretty good as long as you don't get caught in the monsoon.....i'm in phoenix so i'd rather go to alamo lake myself

I've been fishing Topock since the early 60's. It's a trip, best seen by a boat, the fishing depends on season, and how much water the dam is letting out. It changes the water temp. and that determans how the fish feed. Under the right conditions I've caught monster cats off the banks, and some bass. Get your hands on a shallow draft boat, and treat those kids and yourseelf to an adventure. skitters at night not much in daylight.if you see a small sail boat thats me. Have fun, Hope you catch some big ones. Muleskinner

I live in topock,. the marsh is over 4000 acres. excellent crappie and cats,. several launch ramps, and a small pier.
it does require a shallow draft boat. there are also a large number of wild pigs in the marsh,
there is a hardware store in town, golden shores, that can guide in the right direction for fishing this marsh,.
