I have a venture 12500lb trailer that have replace the mater cylinder and the 2 dampers. After putting it back together the breakaway lever doesn't work. I thought that it was supposed to trip by hitting the master cylinder plunger. It doesn't even come close to it. I haven't been able to find any info on how its connects. I need to use my trailer .

Thanks

If it's like every other actuator I've ever used, there is a wire/chain connected to the lever that gets attached to the hitch to actuator the lever in case of a "Break Away"

I have all of that but, the lever is not touching anything to lock the brakes. So what activates the master cylinder when lever is tripped?

The lever, once pulled to its 'activation point' by the break-away cable/chain should have an internal locking mechanism (kind of like a parking brake) that locks the brakes up. They are usually very hard to 'activate' by hand.

It seems that the lever has nothing for it to catch. I think that it catches the rod on the mast cylinder. but neither is long enough to dop that.
