tilt trim AGAIN!

When leaving home the tilt trim was going really good fast up and fast down after being out on the loch for 2 days it starting to get sluggish in the downward movementas a result i was scared to trim up incase i was stranded with the prop out the water what causes this i did the oil with automatic transmission fluid.

Depending on your motor, it could be a defective solenoid or relay.

And here wiz me thinking I was the only Scot with a Force (wrong again!) I have had some bother with T&T relays. Its unlikely that both relays will give you trouble at the same time - so swap em over. If you still have bother trimming down, then it aint the relay - if you now have trouble trimming up, the relay is on the way out and needs replaced. At least it elimates the relays as problems.<br /><br />Where's your playground?<br /><br />Bill

Had the same problem about 2 weeks ago. I took the trim motor aprt about four times. It ended up being a loose connection from the motor to the relays.
