This thread may be better posted in the Boat Rebuilding forum, but I though I'd try my fellow Starcraft owners first.

I'm not sure what the area is called, but the well area behind the outboard on my American has a drain hole thru the transom on both sides. As you can see though, the fittings have seen better days (and this is the good one) I'd like to get these replaced over the winter to keep the water out.

Have those of you that have restored these boats replaced these parts? If so, what did you use?

Not a replacement as such, but when I converted to an outboard I just used brass tubes and nuts from the plumbing section of Home Depot.

But the back end of my boat is not that pretty and it may not look nice on your boat.

It looks like you had a plastic thought the hull drain installed. you can get them at most marina supply houses like WEST MARINE.
Yours looks like MOD#307498. Cost is about $3.60 ea.
I recently had mine replaced with aluminum tubing at a boat repair shop. Didn't want stainless or brass because of electrolysis. I don't know where he got the aluminum tubing, but I could find out if you really wanted to go that direction.

The through transom drain can be found at marine supply business,(liquidators, West Marine, iboat, etc). The Starcraft can with an aluminum drain originally; however, only one side has a finished lip formed on it. To install, the tube has to be cut to an appropriate length with an allowance for turning an edge much like a grommet. That takes a special tool. The plastic version is not to OEM specs but it will allow the owner to install it with specialized tooling. If you want to go with the plastic drain and can not locate it, message me. A rather large marine liquidator in Milwaukee has them. Good luck.
