THINKING OF RECARPETING MY BOAT

I want to recarpet my boat I was thinking that I could just go over the existing carpet what do you think

I think it would be preferable in the long run to lift the existing carpet and replace it totally. Any fitting over would leave the boat with a drying problem. Also it would make it harder to remove those occasional smells one gets from fishing.<br />Ross

Forget it. Carpet holds water and enhances rot nad deterioration. You will just have 2 layers of water holding material causing hidden problems.
