Anyone have any experience with this area? Pros and cons??? Some great deals, I found a place right by the Guadalupe river, about 25 minutes north of the Gulf of Mexico.
Thanks guys

The Guadalupe river deal sounds better.....Galveston has some nice areas and some bad ones. The hurricane threat and high insurance costs are something to think about too...and if you have to evacuate you better do it early or you will just be sitting on I-45 with everybody else.....and being an island, it has very little protection from direct hits.

Galveston is nice to visit. Look in Santa Fe for country living. 29 minutes to the gulf

Galveston, Ooh Gal-ve-ston! I can see your sea birds flying... Etc.

Had that one going through my head recent after a blue heron passed slowly over the boat at low altitude, heading in the same direction. Had me sweating a bomb attack for a sec.

Do they still have the Lone Star Flight Museum there? Went to an airshow there once while I was in the military.

Visited Ladyfish and her pirate husband when they lived there years ago. Galveston Island was a nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there because of the hurricane damage.

The museum moved to Ellington Field in 2017. It received heavy damage during Hurricane Ike when still on Galveston Island....Think they had enough of that.....

Battleship Texas is headed to Galveston for repairs. Not sure where her new home port will be but Galveston has been proposed.
