temperature gauge question

1990 mach 1 .....350 magnum mercruiser..........when i start my boat,after about 5 minutes the guage jumps to around 220 and doesn't move..up or down....what could this be or what should i check first

You will also need to check for any impeller parts (current or previous replacement) in the heat exchanger and elsewhere if you still have a problem after impeller change.

Maybe you should start replacing the word "check" with "change"?
Would ya really want to split a drive and not just slap a new impeller in? especially if there's any question on it's relation to an overheat problem?
Or, am I just too wasteful? :D

Naw,.... I change 'em pretty much Every time,...
Can't say's I've never reinstalled a Used impeller, but it ain't been very often....
But, bein' a single digit typist, there's 1 less letter in Check....;) :D
