Tank Vent

So the external vent valve on my boat cracked and fell off the spout. Is it possible for water to get through this spout? It is pretty high on the front port side of the boat. The boat had been running pretty good then just bogged down and I idled back to the dock.

Yep, water sure can get in that way. Time to replace the vent fitting and siphon out a sample of gas to see if there is in fact water in it.

Ayuh,... Not if the vent Hose is properly installed....

It should leave the vent, rise up into a loop, 'n then down to the tank...

The self drainin' loop creates a water trap...
