Tanaka fuel filter?

should my 1.2 hp Tanaka OB have a fuel filter. it came with one. I bought a new one. it looks the same. but it says it's for a Briggs and Stratton 7.0 -15 hp , will it work. or should I go to a marine shop? thanks.

On my Tanaka 3HP I put one of those little plastic in-line filters made for a chain saw cost about $1.00....I also replaced my fuel lines with that green/yellow/clear line for chain saws.....also replaced the peacock with plastic chainsaw unit.....Northern Tools or similar store carries all this stuff!....works great!
