I've taken boats to Canada about a dozen times, Dude.

Never had to show any papers at all, as long as all the lights worked correctly.

I would never tow or use an uninsured boat; mine or anyone else's.

Hi,

maybe they won't ask for the papers (insurance, titles) at the border but, if something happened (theft, accident) it will for sure be easiest if you had them.

Boltdude, as long as your brother is ok with it, we don't mind you coming here at all. :D

Sorry, couldn't resist, I have nothing of substance to add.

Greg

Just a thought, but whenever I take a borrowed vehicle of any kind further than my own town, I get a written, dated, and signed statement from the owner that I'm using it with permission. Might never need such a thing, but it can't hurt.

They do check for marine growth on the boat and trailer- so make sure its clean and doesn't have any dead seaweed and such anywhere!
