Suzuki DF 140....still waiting

Hello All,<br /> Decided to repower this year with a 4 stroke suzuki. Ordered the motor 8 weeks ago and am still waiting. Spoke to the dealer today and he now tells me he can't get an answer from Suzuki as to when they will ship. Claims to be waiting for ten of them. Anyone else out here waiting for a Suzi ??? Any input will be appreciated<br /> TIA

Setharies-<br /><br />My dealer here on Long Island has had no problem with getting the DF 140's. When he got the shipping date on my boat, he called Suzuki and placed the order for the engines about 2 weeks ahead. Ordered the motors last week of February. Boat was delivered to him on 3/15 and the motors arrived 3 days later, along with several other 140's that he was supposed to get at the end of March!<br /><br />The problem that he has had is getting counter rotating Suzuki props! Those are on back order forever, so we went to a custom shop and got the props.<br /><br />My dealer does a lot of Suzuki motors so he might be keeping a floating inventory.<br /><br />Hope this helps.

Just recieved a call from my dealer. Suzuki just called him and they are out of production for the year...sold out they say...140 will not be available till August!!! Guess that makes their marketing people happy.

Setharies-<br /><br />My dealer is Jensen Marine in Copiague, NY.<br /><br />The DF 140's with 25" shafts appear to be the problem right now, due to a huge demand. Suzuki is not shipping motors to dealers unless they are sold. This means they want the motors to go directly on a boat and not sit in the warehouse or showroom. There is a container ship with a large shipment due in about 3 weeks, not August. <br /><br />If you are only getting one motor, you might be able to get a counter rotating 140. Then you might just have trouble with obtaining the right prop!

BIG E...<br /> Stopped by my dealer today...he showed me 13 orders for 140"s...some 25,some 20" <br />shafts...all repowers...deposits down and transoms waiting...suzuki told him not till august...can get me a 115 in a week..told him i'd think abut it...very disapointing situation.

Setharies,<br /><br />I'm at a loss as to what may be going on. I will be at my dealer today and will personally speak to him directly to see if he can figure out what is going on. From the last weekend, I know that he has several boats in or due in this weeek and motors are all set for them. I will keep you posted.
