Did this really happen?
Can anyone be that stupid?
What else could the explanation be?

Has anyone seen this before and have the truth behind it?

Whatever the explanation, I wish I was there to witness it.

(The caption I have been given with the picture is; This was his first boat, and he wasn't quite sure of the correct procedure for launching it off a ramp, but figured it couldn't be too hard.
He consulted his local boat dealer for advice, but they just said "don't let the trailer get too deep when you are trying to launch the boat."
Well, he didn't know what they meant by that, as he could barely get the trailer in the water at all)!

mmmm, Surely not.

That one has been around for awhile. Obviously it happened somewhere, the caption changes depending on who's getting burned. First time I saw it, the truck had 'Obama' in large letters in the back window, another time it was a Union boss giving the launch instuctions.....
If 'ya really want to know, look it up on Scopes. Not worth my time :D

I have seen that one before. The explanation I heard is that you are seeing the retrieval. The truck backed in too far and was floating, or at least the boat/trailer was floating. They entire unit spun around and was towed out by the trailer. The person didn't actually drive in forward as it appears.

That looks to be a pretty steep ramp as well.

Parking Brake Failure?

That's it. He told his wife he was going fishing whenever he wanted to cheat. She followed him and when he got in the girlfriends car and they drove off the wife was so mad she drove his rig right into the ocean!!

It's so obvious now, I'm glad we got to the bottom of this one :p:p:p

Reminds me of an old joke. Man gets out of bed in the wee hours to go fishing. It's wet and cold, but he's determined to go, so he hooks up and heads to the water. On his way he decides it's just not worth it, so he goes home and crawls back in bed and whispers to his wife, "It's miserable out there", to which she replies, "I know, and my moron husband's out there in it."

This is the most likely scenario.

Once again, you guys are missing the obvious. In that state, it is illegal to tow two trailers behind each other. So this person decided to hook one trailer to the front and one to the back of the tow vehicle. He is mearly just launching the first boat. You can clearly see it docked in the background of the picture. :D

For those interested, I recognize the launch ramp at my home port, Marina Del Rey, Los Angeles, California. I often stop by there for this type of live entertainment. On occasion, I have even helped to muscle someone out of a predicament.

maybe he wanted to rinse off the whole rig; truck, trailer, boat, etc...

He forgot to put the plug in the pickup?

It is a nice boat, though. :D

No matter how it happened the only thing that is for sure is when the boat isn't running you can always sit at the docks and get a few laughs on a nice day. But this instance no matter what the situation is just a plane case of you can't fix stupid

That person just isn't very experienced... I'm sure he's already figured out that he simply hasn't pulled in deep enough to float the boat off the trailer:rolleyes:.

I believe there is video of that one being launched and dropped. I think it's been posted here before.

Re: Surely Not! - You Cannot Be Serious!

Pretty much every funny boating picture has been posted here before. I'm sure the first time I saw these pics here and commented on them wasn't the first time either.
