You guys are killing me.
Stop eating frozen pizzas, PLEASE !

My employer is in the midst of an overhead reduction (employee reductions).
Just as demand has made a sharp increase.
So we are all forced to work 12 hour shifts now.

We made 731,243 pizzas last Tuesday.

If you could all reduce your frozen pizza consumption by 25%, I might survive.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Don't eat the cardboard things, so I am not to blame! But I will tell some of my friends that eat them that there has been some major problems in the plant and if they know what is good for them they will go cold turkey for a month or so! How will that be?

Re: Stop it ! Stop it ! STOP IT NOW !

Went to WallyWorld and bought one of their house brand personal pizzas once. Never again! Ketchup on a Cracker would've been a vast improvement. So now when I want a pizza, I ask myself "What do I want on my Tombstone?" Don't blame me, it's Wally's fault. ;)

Keep on raking in that Overtime :)

Oh, sorry that is my fault. My mom took me to stock up on snack food for me while it was on sale. Needless to say, we got a lot of frozen pizzas.
BTW, keep up the good work. They are pretty good.8)

I'll have a talk with my neighbor. Not sure what good it will do though, he has four kids that love the stuff.

WAIT..... so if I am reading this right..... family members are not to finish eating a whole frozen pizza and just keep 1/4 of it as a leftover??? OR maybe you should have made 182811 less to reflect a 25% reduction?? It also appears that your crew is working 25% more!! How come this math seems strange!

This will drive the prices up!!

Bob, I want you to buy less, then I can work less.

Its all in an effort to keep the price down Bob.
40% more hours per week (56 total) spread out over 5, 6, or 7 days depending on your job.
Don't even ask about the work schedules.
Less employees, less benefits and insurance to pay for, less plants to build.

But its gonna kill them in the end, as more and more people are going out on medical leave, and more of those are turning into permanent disability cases.
Its physical work, in 30-42* temps, with only 2, 14 minute breaks per 8 hours, no sitting, lots of stretching/reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion. Like stacking and lifting 8000 crusts an hour, or shredding 4000# of block cheese an hour. Currently, we are using over 230,000# or cheese per day.

Our plant volume has doubled in the last 2 years, while our workforce has been cut by 1/3.

Sounds like the planted NEEDED a new manager - I mean, if he could get twice the production from 2/3's the employees, someone wasn't pulling their load!

And just think, if they cut another 1/3 how much more production they could get!!!! Roscoe, I think you need to work harder and be more efficient! Maybe not take so many breaks!:love:

Isn't Pizza one of the 4 major food groups? If ya take that away the USDA will have to re-write the Food Guide no? :%

We are continually getting new managers.
We have one plant manager, and 3 department managers.
Only 1 of them has been in place for more than 3 years, over the 9 years I have been there.
Its the Kraft system, take the position, make a few changes, transfer to a new position before you are held accountable for the long term effects of your work. 8)

About half of our production increases have come through automation and outsourcing. For example, we no longer process and cook our meat toppings (outsourced).

The problem is that all but 2 automated processes are not performing up to the specified levels. And management insists on running the equipment @125%+ of its capacity. That just doesn't work- for long, then it breaks down. So the burden to make up the difference falls on the laborer.

No one under the age of 23 stays on the job for more than 2 months.
In fact, we currently have no one under the age of 25.
Very few under the age of 28 at our facility.
Temporary service employees rarely stay more than 2 weeks.
8.6% of our workers were on medical leave at any given time in 2006.
Few workers 50 and over are able to do the job at the expected performance level.
And then you have the just plain lazy and the inept, which account for about 10% of my co-workers.

Did I mention that I am approaching 50?

I think its time to move on.
Until I do, please eat less. :)

Re: Stop it ! Stop it ! STOP IT NOW !

Before I retired I placed a few labeling machines at the location making the original Sam's Club pizzas. They were having a lot of trouble with their equipment and I had to go to TX to have a look-see. Turns out they had a huge wiring problem at the installation that was causing all the problems.

Also put some High-Resolution ink-jet printers in the factory making Uno's pizza. That went very well.

To the point:
After seeing how these things are made, I won't touch them. The ingredients seem OK but the workers don't seem to give a fart if they hit the floor first.

Hope the work habits are better at the KRAFT plant (they were at the Dover, DE facility).
