'78 115 Merc I6. Bought a Stiletto 11317 (13-1/4x17) Advantage I prop and when I tried to install it the blades would hit the trim/torque tab by 1/4" or so. I'm assuming it's due to the rake of the prop but what can I do at this point? Can I clearance the trim tab with a grinder?

Thanks!

You can do that, but you may have to compensate for the lost length by adjusting it a little more.

They make a shorter tab for your situation, also available is a flat anode that replaces the tab altogether. Just don't run without an anode there.

There was a slip of paper in the box my Stiletto came in that gave me the part number for the tab I needed. My local boat supply center had them.

Thanks guys! I confirmed the trim tab replacement with Stiletto, said high rake wasn't a thought back in '78. Overtons has the replacement part numbers listed by the Stiletto Merc prop...
