How do you tell if your float is stuck ? Im having the same problem as the first post.Do I just re-build the carb? Can I do this myself? or should I take it to a shop?

Welcome aboard, Cnags.

Moved your post to a new thread. The thread you posted to is 5 years old and inactive. http://forums.iboats.com/forum/engi...-leaking-gas-out-of-the-top-of-the-carburetor

We prefer that you start a new topic when asking for help. Look at the Help Tip on top of the page. Thanks.

Yes, you can rebuild the carb or take it to a shop. It all depends on your confidence level. Carb kits usually come with a good set of instructions.

If a float is stuck down or filled with gas and held down you will get a constant stream of fuel into the offending carb.

You can try to rap on the bowl ara to see if it's stuck and will free it's self. If not. You will need to remove the bowl and fix the reason.

Seeing as it has been sitting. I would go ahead and rebuild the carbs and go from there.
