I have a Volvo Outdrive on my 1994 Wellcraft Excel that makes a knocking sound with the wheel cranked to either side. This only happens when the drive is close or near to the full down position. As I move the drive up the knocking becomes less and less. <br /><br />This is a recently purchased boat with a new engine and original drive. The owner said that the marine that put the engine in said it would eventually "loosen up". <br /><br />Any idea what this knocking sound is?
