Hey man,

It depends.... if you a are putting the steering cable through the motor or hanging it off a bracket that used to come with the older motors. I changed my mind and went with through the motor option...I originally bought a 14' and it was just a tad short (4" actually!). So I bought a 15' and it worked great. The 14' would have worked with the transom bracket option --- however watch the solid shaft length at the motor end --- the 14' I bought was different in length and would have been more of a challenge to install. You will want to match the length of that piece as well or be drilling another hole in your transom!

Ok so i will be purchasing a 15" setup but what is the main difference in the Rotary and Rack systems, which is better and do they both fit? Where is the cheapest place to get these. I found a used setup with a 14' cable on a rack system for $65. Any thoughts?
