I have changed my stator on my 150hp Mercury modell 1985. I dont have any
serial nr on the engine but that was what I was told.
What I can understand I should use a 398-5454A32 or 398-5454A35.
I have recived a Sierra 18-5860, but when when I mounted the stator I had to use longer bolts. I understand that the lamination is thicker on the A35
but not if there is any other differences.
Anyway the engine runs well on idle but not on higher rpms.
Is it that big difference between A32 and A35?

Re: Stator problem

The thinner of the 2 is a 9 amp and uses a rectifier and the thicker is a 16 amp and uses a regulator.
