OK..........Trying to make one good motor out of 2. I have a 4 cylinder Mercury 100 hp S# C164170 that has 2 bad cylinders and a 4 cylinder Mercury 115 hp S# B065144 that is in great shape. So I'm taking electrical and carbs from the 100 hp and installing them on the 115 block.

Got my flywheel puller Today and removed flywheels from both motors. The stator from the 100 hp is 398-9710A18 or 13 it was a little smeared. The stator from the 115 is 398-8778A17.

#1-Do I need to keep stator and switchbox together for each motor or can I mix them?
#2-how do I know what amperage or does it matter?
#3-Do I need to get a replacement stator that will work with a voltage regulator or rectifier or both?
#4-will I have to get the engine running to check the switchbox?

If you have any info that will help me in my quest to get me a good motor out of the 2 would be Greatly appreciated.

So far I know that I have 2 bad stators ( one with low speed windings bad and the other with high speed windings bad). I have a good trigger.

Thanks in advance
