Ok so normaly the starboard engine is right hand rotation, however with V-Drives the motors are backwards, does that change the engine rotation?? I need to order a long block and i just cant seem to get my mind around this!

With V-drives a LH rotation engine drives a RH prop and vice versa...

Not all V drives run their engines forwards...only the ones with a front engine coupler.

Engine rotation is watched at the flywheel of your Starboard engine.
Good luck!

The starboard motor is locked up! I did find a faded label on that engine that says "Right Hand Rotation", Hard to trust it thought! I saw on another site that Vdrive change the rotation, if that is true it would be a right hand motor! Just dont wana order the wrong motor!

also depends on the clutch.
I have a few that both engines are standard left hand rotation but the clucth reverses the stbd to right hand.
most Vdrives that use a velvet drive clutch dont care what the input is from the clutch.
and some velvet drives can use a left hand input and use a right hand output depending on the pump installation.
confused yet?

Look at the firing order? Also, look at the plug wire arrangement..will be different from the other motor IF the firing order is reversed.

Pull the tranny..the velvet drive pump will tell you which way it was clocked.
