I'm part of a group that is trying to put together a history of the square meter yachts that sailed in various parts of the Great Lakes, specifically the 22 square meter yachts. Many of the original boats showed up in Detroit or Gull Lake in 1931 and most have since disappeared.
What we're looking for are any old articles or photos of these boats around the Great Lakes that would shed more light on which boats were here, and where they might have wound up. If you have a family member or friend who sailed the 22's years ago, we're interested in hearing from you. Either post here or send me a PM and I'll provide you with an email address.
These websites give you an idea of the boats that we're looking for--
www.sskf.se (Swedish site)
www.squareskerryyachts.net (U.S. site primarily 30 square meter yachts))
Thanks!
Richard
