I have a 23 mako with a low transom, , there are two scuppers on the transom the self bail the boat. There is also a splash well door that i use which sits approx 1" of the floor and somewhat closes off the transom area. There is also one deck hatch in fron of the motor for access to the bildge..The boat ios wet, , especially while drifting or getting throught the chop...I am going to make a new splahwell door that is permanent and thicker..i plan to completley seal of the area with some hinges and a cutout on the top part so the top of the motor can properly tilt throught a hinged cutout that i cant keep in place with some slidebolts while the boat is underway...My question is this..how can i allow the deck to drain out throught the splah door as needed for cleaning or rain, large wave ect??...maybe a trap doos in the bottom of the splashwell or a scupper..maybe a deck drain...not sure how to make this happen....and the bildge hatch that is now going to be stranded in the "motor well"..can i leave that..or will too much water infultrate the deck plate into the bildge..tks
