I use the floating prop wrench. It has a nipple on the end that works perfectly for bending them back up. You just hook the nipple into the hole on the washer and pull.
I have always bent down 2 spider washer arms on the prop on my Alpha drive.I use a small flat head screwdriver to pry up the edges of the arms on removal which can some times be tricky getting the screwdriver under the arm.Any tools or techniques I am missing out on?Charlie
I wondered what that was for????Especially because it can move in and out.I thought it may have been to hang the wrench on.Thanks for making me feel stupid. Charlie
Charlie, don't feel bad, it took me about three years of having the wrench sitting next to me while I was prying on the washer with a screwdriver before I had the "brillant" idea of seeing if that little nipple on the end of the wrench would work. Word to the manufacturers......for the sake of all of us genius's please put a big arrow on the tool pointing at the nipple and in bold print WASHER REMOVAL TOOL.
