Hi everyone, I noticed a hose with a metal fitting and a small hose hanging near the hydraulic lines by the passenger side trim ram. I couldn't figure out what it was so I left it alone. I also noticed a plastic plug on the outdrive near where the hose was but again I had no idea what it was. Once on the water I noticed the speedometer wasn't working at all so now I am thinking this hose must go to the speedo and needs to be be connected to the white plastic plug on the outdrive. The problem is I can't find the part number for the plug anywhere. Mine must be broken. I assume there must be a nipple that connects to the hose. I attached a couple of pictures that I hope you can make out what I am talking about. Appreciate any help you can give me.

That's it! I spent hours looking in the wrong place. Thank you!

I haven't done it yet. I am hoping I can just pull hard on it. Has anyone done it? I'll be trying this at my slip. Rather not have to pull the boat out just for this.

So I had to pull the boat to clean and touch up the bottom paint. I installed the new fitting and re-attached the hose that goes up to the speedometer.
The fitting was really easy to remove. I used needle nose pliers and then pulled. It came right off but the plastic
'hooks" at the end broke. I just flushed a ton of water both directions to make sure they came off the drive. I had also removed the water intake covers to make it easier to flush water.
Installing it was just a matter of removing the O-ring from the old one, putting it on the new one, and then press it in with very little effort.
I also inserted a long nail in the hole at the front of the leg where the water goes in. It was a little clogged up but after a while the water started flowing easily. The problem is that it is not reading accurately. I was doing 48 on GPS, and it was showing about 20 on the speedometer. Should I disconnect the hose from the back of the speedometer and blow compress air? I've never seen the back of one so I am not sure how it works. Thank you for your help in advance.

That is the usual way of clearing that line, yes. But if the drive pitot intake becauses clogged, it can be a real pain getting it completely clear. Having GPS like you, I just pulled the hose off the back of the spedometer and plugged it and use the GPS now.

Thank you Skydive and Brich. I think I'll also try some compress air. I still need to put a nail in it again while in the water just in case it got clogged up. Appreciate all your help.
