SPC - Forget the prop, can't even get the cone off !

Hi

I have a 430B engine with a SPC drive.

In all likelihood, the prop was put on at the factory in 1993 and never removed. The second owner had the boat since 1994 and he hasn't removed it.

So I took the Allen screw out of the cone, thinking I will have a huge problem getting the prop off, but . . . . the cone won't even come off.

I've soaked it in penetrating oil overnight with no luck.

Any ideas on what I should do (shooting myself is an option).

Update . . . .

Got the cone off finally and then the prop just slid right off.

Good news, but the cone should be the easy thing.

I should have waited before posting a question.
