Re: spark plug wire length for 1956 johnson 15 hp?
I just happened to have the flywheel pulled off my 1956 Johnson 15HP. I measured the wires by running a piece of string alongside them the best I could then measuring the string. One measured about 22" and the other one about 32". When they went under the magneto plate the top cylinder wire appeared to go straight into one coil and the bottom cylinder wire appeared to curl under the magneto plate 3/4 of the way around it before going in the other coil so thats why it is so much longer. I really couldn't see for sure which wire went where when they went under the magneto plate but it looked like they went like I measured. If it turns out they go into the opposite coils than I thought, then they would be about 24" and 30" I guess. I hope it all makes sense to you.
