I have a 87 Yamaha Pro 50 outboard that calls for a NGK B8HS-10 spark plug. I accidentally bought NGK BR8HS-10 plugs. Does anyone know if this plug is an acceptable replacement? Thanks for your help.

Re: Spark plug question

So the R stands for resistor type plug. Is it an acceptable replacement? Will the resistor affect the way the motor runs? Why would you want a plug that doesn't have a resistor? I am just fishing for positive information before I use the BR8's in place of the B8's. Thanks for you advice.

Jip it is fine to run ... don't worry ... the R (resistor) just reduce or supress the electronic noise singing with the engine ....
