Still haven't caught a freaking snakehead yet after a week of trying, but look at the size of this bass I nailed yesterday:

Got her in this TINY canal right near my house, and although really long, I wouldn't say too fat around. I gotta buy a scale and one of those fish grabbers. It was also a PITA trying to set up and take the picture with the smart phone for self-portrait while she was jerking around!

I'm no expert!

I'll be ready to launch my Piece of Ship in a week or so, so we'll see what happens then. (Gotta renew the trailer registration and install wiring harness on car.) So far, I've just been walking the canals.

The thing is, down here in South Florida, we're in our "horrible afternoon weather cycle," which means you're just about 99% guaranteed to get poured on by afternoon. What's so fantastic about walking the canals is that they're everywhere and within steps of my front door, so I can tell my wife, "I'm heading out for an hour to do some fishing."

Throw a couple of beers in my knapsack...take a short walk...and I'm in heaven.
