I have a 1981 smokercraft 14’, I have been looking at the new ones; how do you row the boat if the motor does and there is no middle seat?

I rowed a lot in the old boat from the middle seat, the one I’m looking at does not have a middle seat across the center, I’m trying to figure out where to place oars

Yep, paddling, and it is slow and difficult to do. If you don't have oar pin receivers then you are paddling not rowing. Most 14' tinnies have a middle seat for support as well as comfort.

You can add oar locks on the gunwales. Then you just need something to sit on ... cooler or whatever. Not a perfect setup, but better than drifting.

My woodie has oarlocks next to the aft seat. If the boat doesn't have them, install a pair where its most convenient to sit.
