G'Day
Leave Sloopy alone chum, All the guys who regularly post on this board have a differant opinion. There ara a few regulars who I would get rid of before Sloopy and You Sir, have just got to the top of the list, congratulations! :D .
While other guys his age are out mugging grannys, smoking dope and spraying graffiti sloopy is giving his opinions on boating and also giving us guys a few laughs.

Re: Sloopy or Sloppy

If you hang around long enough, you'll come to like Sloopy. Most of his posts are not spelled correctly, etc, but that is his persona! I have seen post by him that has had correct grammar, spelling, etc.

When things get down, Sloopy will come around and you can't do anything but enjoy his posts!

I thought the same as you until I came to understand this board.

Sloopy is our "Dock Boy" and is going nowhere!

Yeah. Sloopy is OK. After a while, you'll be waiting to see what he comes up with next, like the rest of us. He could be interested in a lot worse things than boats.

Howdy fellow Oldfishnfart.

Sloopy takes some getting used to, but once we are used to him we love him. We do not judge him as we would an adult.

He reminds us of our own youth. His enthusiasm is a delight and some of his ideas are a genuine hoot. :D

Most of us are happy to have him around and would miss him terribly.

Think of him as another grandson, like a lot of us elders do. You will enjoy him as well. :)

Re: Sloopy or Sloppy

Hello and welcome OLFISHNFART to the forums. If you hang around long enough you will find more people with more faults than just their spelling. Yes Sloopy does have problems with his spelling, but maybe he just don't pay enough attention to what he is typing, but hey, he is just a kid and he will get better as he gets older.
And I for one have great respect for my elders, but maybe in other parts of the world they don't and them people know who I am talking about and it's a shame cause I have friends in that part of the world too.
So OLFISHNFART, take it easy on Sloopy and if you don't like his spelling then don't read his replys or posts. OK, I'm done.

Welcome to the board Olfishinfart, We welcome everyone as long as they do not knock other people. Sloopy does take a little getting used to, but will provide some laughs and even some interesting advice. As far as spelling and grammar, everyone has their days and most do not have time to edit their posts more than once or have a program with a spell checker to edit on. We all just appreciate that we can get together with people that have the same interests, get some FREE advice and possibly make some friends. One of the best things about the board is that people that get down or attack other people are not tolerated and are given the boot. As you said, respect. I for one would be sad to see Sloopy go. He has come a long way, learned alot, and definitely adds to the forum. Keep them coming Sloop. Again, welcome to the board Fishinfart.

Don't get run off Olfnf. Your same post pops up every month or so. Sloopy has been bashed more than that mole at chuck y cheeses. Gotta respect someone that can take a punch. BTW Sloopy, that was a great point you made in the 4stroke debate, that 4 produces the same power on 1/2 the firings. He notices those kinds of things with regularity.

Hi OLFISHNFART,

Welcome to the post. I always hated when my questions were answered with a question -- which is always a non-answer. But your thoughts on spelling and word choice made me curios. Sooooo, I gotta ask a question regarding your screen name...

If you were a fisherman who fished you'd have called yourself OLFARTFISHIN...
In English the adjectives preceed the noun, so two adjectives (ol fart) before the noun "fishn" means an ol fart that fishes -- Right?

But it is curios that you sequenced the two adjectives (ol fishn) to modify the noun "fart".

¿So which noun is right? are you a fisherman or a f***er? :D

Seems you have done what Sloopy does, weaving and twisting words in a way that amuses all of us and makes you a welcome addition to the board.

Again, glad to have you with us.

In the words of my Favorite non-fishing TV show Andromeda "It's like that old Earth game Whack-A-Mole"
What we have here is the typical bash the Sloopster post. I like Sloopy he is okay in my book although a little demented. Everyone that has been here a while says the same thing "He's okay for his age."

Re: Sloopy or Sloppy

OK fellow mates lets give him a 2nd chance since this was his first post. I do remember days past when we were on ole sloop where a fly wouldn't land on him.

O.F.F.doesn't realize that sloop has been adopted by some 17,000 members. If he fishes he can't be all that bad. So tell us old wise one what brings you to our neck of the woods? You didn't move from Nebraska did ya? Oopsssss
