Thanks, I had already been told about voiding the warranty if I installed a whale tail. The engine on it is a Yamaha 3.1L, v-6 (V MAX).<br /> Mercman, Do you think that by lowering the engine on the jack plate I may solve the problem? The engine sits about 2 inches higher on the jack plate than if it were mounted directly on the boat. <br />P.S. What is a 25 pitch Tempest? Kind of new to this boating lingo. <br /> Thanks again <br /> Texangator

For some reason I thought you had a Mercury.The 25 tempest is a Mercury prop set the motor to were the water pickups are in the middle of the bottom edge of the pad "the bottom of boat" that's a good starting point.
