Should my jib be rubbing on the guard rail on the bow sprit? I have a 26 ft grampain, and the sprit extends out 3 ft. the jib hooks into the end of the sprit. the front corner of the sail will usually be touching the rail.
maybe i'm supposed to hook it further back on the boat?

I just went sailing for the first time on my own yesterday. It was me and my buddy out there. We figured it out, not much to it. Everyone makes sailing seems so hard, but it is just like flying a kite.

Please post a picture of the interference. You might be rigged incorrectly or you could have your sail trim mis-adjusted or something else entirely.
