Hey all, quick question here, I am in the process of swapping motors from 2 different boats. One is a Mercury and the other is a Johsnon so controls have to switch as well. I can't get the control cable to pull al the way through the floor on the one boat.

I am wondering if anyone knows how to remove the cable ends from the engine side of the cables so I can take tke adjusters off as they are what is hanging up.

PLEASE HELP!!! This is so very frustrating!!!

OMC ends on the engine side, not controls. It is a 1990 90 hp johnson V4. I am pretty sure these ends are the same from late 70's up. All I can see that seems to hold the end on the cable is a small stainless piece that goes through the plastic adapter.

Look inside the ends of the stainles piece, isn't there a tiny allen screw in each side, loosen both screws and the cable should come out.

No screws, it is a solid stainless piece.
