I wasn’t really sure where to place this but I figured the anglers would appreciate this if they have rod lockers without rod organizers in there boat.

This is an idea I read about on another site. It can easily be modified to your needs. It is also a lot cheaper if you are a do-it-yourself person ( shaofin Shady Gung Fu). :D

Things needed: Plastic cutting board, tape, cardboard, Golf club bag organizers (plastic tubes), jig saw, hole saw (the same diameter as the G-ball organizers), marine adhesive, scissors, belt sander. Most of the items can be found at Wal-Mart. The cutting boards are the opaque white ones that are about a ¼” thick. They don’t adsorb water, swell, or rot. The golf bag organizers are black plastic tubes and have a neat lip on the end that adds a finishing touch to the project. They are also lightweight.

Making the template: Take the cardboard and start cutting it out where it will fit into your rod locker snug. It might take a few tries but you need it to fit tight and conform to the curves in the locker.

Place the template on the plastic cutting board and use the jig saw to cut the pattern out. You may want to cut a little over and use a belt sander to make the perfect fit. Test fit the plate to see how it fits, you want a sung fit but you should not have to force the plate in.
Once you have the plate how you want it, decide how you want your rods to be placed.

Using the hole saw cut the holes in the desired locations. Insert the bag tubes and you can secure them with a little marine adhesive if desired on the backside of the plate.

You can also be creative and use the same cutting board material and bungi straps or Velcro to support the rod handles.
