Hey guys, could you tell me the difference between the 2 risers? Besides price i heard that factory parts sometimes don't last as long. Would i need anything different to install the seloc riser to my manifold or is it identical? Is it worth getting aluminum? The riser i'm replacing is 807988a03

You mean Sierra instead of Solec? Solec makes service manuals.

Sierra and GLM both make risers, manifolds and spacers. I have had good luck with both, and iboats.com I believe carries them. The parts are functionally and mechanically identical down to the bolts and gaskets- i.e. you can use either Merc, Sierra or GLM gaskets on any of the above parts. I would NOT get aluminum unless you have a closed cooling system.

Osco makes good stuff. Just be sure to use the graphite (black/grey) gasket, and not the green paper one.
