self tailing whiches-need a deck cleat?

I'm going to replace my standard winches on my 21' pocket cruiser. Can anyone think of a reason that I need to also have deck cleats for my jib/genoa?

Just for everyone's reference. I spoke with a Lewmar winch rep and he said I don't need deck cleats.

I have Lewmar bronze ST winches on my 33' Cape Dory (BBST 42) and use the deck cleats regularly.

Your genoa/jib sheets may not always stay snug when wrapped around the ST winch and "locked" into place. Mine have slipped on occasion and I was grateful to have taken the extra moment to secure them to the cleat.

It may be an overabundance of caution but you never know....
