Do you have to grease u joints from the factory on sei drives. When it came there was grease on the nipple and from what ive seen even if their own installation video they do not grease them before installing.

There’s obviously a reason why im asking. Its on the boat the boats in the water. Has a weird vibration turning only at 1500rpm. When i put the drive on there was grease on the nipple of the grear fittings and i was told they are pre greased.

I would expect a new outdrive to come pre-greased. Also, Alpha 1 Gen II drives do not need to be greased each year, or so I have been told.

I would turn the outdrive all the way and see what it contacts (if anything) at max turn. Look inside and outside the hull. Maybe the power steering equipment is causing the vibration. Remember what a car sounds like when the steering wheel is overturned? They squeal. Maybe you have something similar?

Is the drive new to you? Did the vibration just develop with the installation of the SEI? Are you using same prop? Have you trimmed up to look at it?
